The book will make a fantastic christmas gift. The pictures are quite bright and the child's name is used often as well as names of people he knows. The only problem for me was that it said 'Friends' on the order form so I put my son's friends name down. In the Christmas book it would work better with family as when he gets home there are presents under the tree for the 'friends' that you named.
